The Formula for Online Success
Hey There! It's nice to see you again, thanks for stopping by. Sign up for my RSS feed and never miss a post.
This “formula” is one that all successful online businesses use.
Traffic + A product or service that converts = CASH
Pretty simple, huh?
Traffic plus conversions equals cash. Strip all the hype away and it all boils down to that one simple formula. Remove traffic from that equation and you don’t make any money. Remove conversions from that equation and you don’t make any money.
Consider that for a tic or two.
You see, getting traffic to your blog that converts (or takes action on an offer) is the one thing that’s most important in any online business.
One way some people are making money online is thru affiliate marketing. Put simply, affiliate marketing is sending web traffic to a merchant’s web site and being paid a commission on any sales you may make. Here’s where you want to take time and think about what it is you want to promote. Some things you might consider:
Does the product/service convert?
The kind of product you’d want to consider promoting is one that converts a higher percentage. In other words, you would want to choose a product that converts at 10%, rather than a product that converts at .5%. That would be a difference of making 100 sales per 1000 visitors vice 5 sales per 1000 visitors. Makes sense, doesn’t it? An awesome place to look for products is the Clickbank Marketplace. Tip: The higher the gravity, the more a product converts.
Does the product relieve pain or address a health issue?
Like it or not, there’s a ton of cash in the pain relieving niche. Pain is a major buying motivator for people. Ever have a bad toothache? Then you know what I’m talking about. Most of the best products an affiliate can market are those that relieve a pain and people will spend money on a product that relieves pain in an economic recession. I know that may sound uncool, but it’s the truth. There be money in them thar pills.
How much are my commissions?
Given that it takes just about the same amount of effort to promote any product regardless of cost, that’s a question that I really can’t answer due to there being no concrete answer. On the one hand, 1 sale of a high end product might net you a healthy commission. On the other hand, it might not convert as often as a $10 product. But hey, if that high end product does convert well, you’re talking high dollars deposited directly into your account. So that’s something you’ll want to take into consideration when selecting a product to promote.
In my next post, I’ll tell you about ways to create whats called a “sales funnel” where you can “pre-sell” visitors and increase your conversions, so stay tuned.
On a more personal note, our plan on our move proceeds. We are looking to be on the road this coming weekend and in SD by Monday. That’s all I have for now and as always, I hope this finds you well.

Hi
Dropping by to ask for your prayers and support for the Flood Victims of Typhoon Ondoy that just hit the Philippines, Metro Manila. I was very fortunate that my apartment has been spared from the major flooding but many have died and many more need to be rescued. Drop by over at empty streets to find out how you can also support those that have been hit by this tragedy.
sincerely,

Why, thank you very much, Kat. While I realize I’ve not been really active of late, it’s nice to know there are people, like yourself, who care. Thank you and I appreciate it very much

Hi, thanks for this interesting and helpful post. I think there are aspects I can apply. An interesting point still remains: how to increase traffic which has a higher probability to convert?

That is the question, Cindy….One way is to submit relevant articles to article directories that point back to a squeeze page, blog or sales page, which will be a subject of a future post that I’ll not get real deep into here, but my research does indicate that this traffic method is one of the best ways to drive TARGETED traffic to any type of site…Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you’ll not be a stranger
