The Gentle Mentor is the Way to Go if You Want to Earn Online

You know, nowadays there’s a chat room for damn near every subject out there. Troll the Paltalk chat rooms (the biggest ones of them all) and you’re sure to find anything from Forex trading to overweight guinea pig support groups. For real.

My mentor, Gary Bacchetti (aka The Gentle Mentor) decided it was time someone paid attention to the lack of anyone helping out struggling marketers. He found the need and filled it by starting a room specifically to help newbies and struggling marketers. It was a room waiting to happen, “I can’t believe no one paid attention to this struggling group”, he’s quoted as saying

What exactly is Viral Marketing?

When you make a purchase of a service or item and recommend said service or item to a friend who purchases, you are practicing a form of viral marketing. Expressing your satisfaction with a product or service by telling everyone you know is viral marketing. Essentially, you’ve advertised through word of mouth.

That is the whole deal behind viral marketing. It’s an advertising strategy that gets people to pass on a marketing message that easily spreads out, exponentially, like a virus.

Now, the concept behind viral marketing isn’t a new one, in fact, it’s been around for centuries. However, there wasn’t a name for until 1997 when a venture capitalist came up with the term in reference to Window Hotmail’s marketing practice of appending an ad to each email message of all their users. To put in simply, a receiver of an Hotmail email clicks on their link in the email, the receiver signs up and advertises Windows Hotmail each time he/she sends out an email. The Formula for Online Success

This “formula” is one that all successful online businesses use.

Traffic + A product or service that converts = CASH

Pretty simple, huh?

Traffic plus conversions equals cash. Strip all the hype away and it all boils down to that one simple formula. Remove traffic from that equation and you don’t make any money. Remove conversions from that equation and you don’t make any money.

Consider that for a tic or two.

You see, getting traffic to your blog that converts (or takes action on an offer) is the one thing that’s most important in any online business.

One way some people are making money online is thru affiliate marketing. Put simply, affiliate marketing is sending web traffic to a merchant’s web site and being paid a commission on any sales you may make. I was doing some EC surfing today and I came across a comment to a comment I had made last night on a friend of mine’s blog. It was an innocent enough comment dealing with traffic. And I got the answer from my friend privately. But when I dropped by my friend’s blog today, I saw a response to my initial comment (by another blogger who still shall remain nameless). I have to admit being more than a little incensed, although I’ll admit this blogger probably meant well. But I have to tell you. I disagree with this person’s premise wholeheartedly.  Read more...
